20th International Golden Roof Challenge Innsbruck
Brilliant anniversary of the in-city athletics cult event in Innsbruck!
In the middle of Innsbruck's magnificent mile - Maria-Theresien-Strasse - the 20th Golden Roof Challenge took place on Saturday evening in front of thousands of enthusiastic spectators; as always with absolute top performance.
The women's pole vault win went to the European Championship bronze medalist Amalie Svabikova/CZE with 4.53 m, ahead of Anjuli Knäsche/GER with 4.43 m and the young local hero and Golden Roof debutant Magdalena Rauter/AUT with 3.83 m.
In the men's category, pole vaulter Zachary Bradford/USA achieved an absolute world-class mark with 5.82 m and took the title ahead of his compatriots Austin Miller with 5.72 m and Matt Ludwig with 5.42 m.
The men's long jump also showed absolute world-class format with two results beyond the 8-meter barrier. Lester Lescay Gay/CUB won with 8.09 m ahead of Bozhidar Sarabuyukov/BUL with 8.04 m. Arnovis Dalmero/COL came third with 7.77 m.
Junior Vice World Champion Natalia Linares/Col won the women's long jump with a very good 6.74 m ahead of the French Sarah Leech with 6.20 m and Kitija Melnbarde/LAT with 6.17 m.
